About the concert: Updated: Wednesday, Sept. 8th 11:35  P.M.
IMPORTANT UPDATE! Bastrop and Smithville are on fire. Many of us have been evacuated from ours homes and nearly 1,400 homes have been destroyed. At this writing we think our neighbors (and we)will need this reprieve from the stresses caused by this disaster. Donations will be used for those that need the help. NEED CHILDRENS CLOTHES!! Please check here for updates. The concert will be held as scheduled!!!

This is a 100% volunteer project to honor the 10th anniversary of that terrible day by the simple act of remembering. We celebrate our military & members of our police, fire & EMS departments and our freedom. This is NOT a political event! This is not a republican or democrat thing-we are all Americans and we all remember that day-where we were and how we felt. This is NOT about the wars. Regardless of your feelings about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or wars in general, you remember that awful day that changed our lives forever. It would be a travesty not to honor the victims and heroes on this 10th anniversary. Ten years ago, American flags flew on cars, in front of homes and business'.."We Shall Not Forget" showed up on billboards and bumper stickers everywhere...look at us today-as divided as we have been since the 60's...The best way I know to pay tribute to the victims & heroes of 9/11 is for just this one day in this one little corner to come together as one people again in thier honor...and there is no better way to bring people together than through music. The promoter has come out of retirement for the event, volunteering his time to honor the memories. The bands are volunteering their talent and time and the sound engineer is volunteering because they believe this day must be remembered and honored. This is a family friendly, fun, free event, but hopefully you are able to donate to The Wounded Warrior Project. There will be donation jars scattered about.

Check the band lineup page for band lineup and visit our sponsors and vendors.
